It’s always a fun day when I can shout about a new book! Today I’m revealing the cover for Painted Dreams, a contemporary romance that releases Aug. 1.

Katlyn Andrews is a talented artist on her way to fulfilling a dream—her own show at a New York City gallery. When she’s drawn back to check on her beloved grandmother, she finds a surprise—Nick Summers, a woodworker bidding on a job at her parents’ upscale home. Nick adores the mountains of Colorado, but NYC is on his radar. He’s auditioning to be a guest host on a home-builders network there. Since that’s a long shot, he’s still pounding the pavement closer to home to secure jobs like the high-end Andrews project. Meeting his client’s intriguing daughter has his thoughts going in other directions. Too bad she lives in New York.

But distance can’t dim their undeniable attraction. Unfortunately, it turns out dreams can be shattered. While Nick’s career is on an upward trajectory, Kat’s unexpectedly takes a big hit. Devastated, she struggles to find a path forward. Nick fears her family’s status and wealth keep her from seeing reality—is she reaching for the stars before paying her dues?

I enjoyed writing the entire cast of this one — from the fun best-friend sidekick to the smarmy, arrogant bad guy. There’s the high-brow mom and the sweet-but-sassy grandmother along with a hero and heroine you’ll be rooting for!

Hello, friends,

Occasionally, I like to introduce you to author friends and their books. Today, I’m hosting fellow Wild Rose Press author Amber Daulton. This is a big day for her — the cover reveal for her new novel “Arresting Jeremiah,” book two in her steamy romantic suspense series.

Ta-dah! A shiny new cover!

After a couple of years of writing, revising, editing, querying, and editing some more, my contemporary romance The Story Between Us is inching its way into the world! Today, I’m excited to release the cover. The book will be published later this summer or early fall by The Wild Rose Press for its Sweetheart line.

I’m so excited to share the cover of Barefoot Days, the final novel in my Women of Whitfield small town trilogy! Book three takes readers back to Whitfield and the lives of three women who share a special I’ve-got-your-back friendship.

Barefoot Days is Mary’s story.

Mary Logan believes in the goodness of people. She believes in grace under pressure. But when the ugliness of human nature touches her family, and a series of seismic events shake up her world, she’s put to the test again and again.

Today’s the day! Here’s the first glimpse of my soon-to-be-released contemporary romance Her Greatest Risk! I love the colors and the large, striking image. Creating the cover for a novel comes with soooo many decisions . . . . colors, mood, font, images, title, etc. I can’t even tell you how many different titles I considered or how many images I looked at before settling on these. Many thanks to Marisa Shor of Cover Me Darling design studio for pulling my concept together!

I know many romance books feature couples on the cover — images that convey the author’s idea of what the characters look like. For some reason, I prefer other images. For one thing, it’s really difficult to find stock images or models that exactly fit. Also, as a reader, I like to create the image of the characters in my mind. Every reader may see something a little differently, and I think that’s part of the fun of stepping into a work of fiction.

Anyway, here it is! The book will be available in print and digital formats at Amazon beginning Friday, Sept. 11. Stay tuned for more on release deals and giveaways. Happy reading to all!

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000026_00031]Here it is, the cover for my new women’s fiction novel “Second Wind!”

The cover says so much about the story, but of course, you’ll have to read it to understand how the images and title and storyline all work together.

I love the bright colors, and the sunflowers, which capture a windy day on the plains of Kansas, where the story is set.

“Second Wind” is book two in my Women of Whitfield series featuring a group of longtime best-buddies who support and encourage each other through life’s ups and downs in the small town of Whitfield.

They raise kids, manage homes and careers, run community events and organizations, laugh, live and love.

Pick up a copy of book one, “The Storm Within,” to get to know these women – people you’d want to be friends with in real life!
